KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Led by First Team selection Terrell Thompson, schools from Iowa were well-represented as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2017-18 Division I Women’s and Men’s Basketball All-America Teams on Thursday.
Thompson was one of four players from the William Penn basketball teams to make the list. The senior averaged 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and was fourth the NAIA with 5.6 assists per game (first in total assists with 197).
Teammate Dominique Shaw made the list as a Third Team All-American and fellow Statesman J.C. Washington was recognized with Honorable Mention.
William Penn also had a representative on the women’s list as junior Vashti Nwagbaraocha earned a spot as a Second Team All-American.
L.T. Davis, a senior from Graceland, was tabbed as a member of the Second Team Men’s Basketball All-American.
