MOUNT PLEASANT – The Tiger Women’s Basketball team opened up its conference play with a phenomenal 79-40 win over the Principia College Panthers.
The Tigers came ready to play from the beginning. Allie Massner put three three-pointers away within the first minute and a half of the game, all three assisted by Morgan McCrea.
The Tigers had four players who scored more than 10 points in the game. McCrea led with 18, Maddie Williamson had 17, Massner put up 16, and Sydney Farrar added 12. McCrea also led in assists, tallying seven for the night. Massner had a double-double tonight with 10 rebounds, leading the Tigers on the boards.
Williamson and Kieley Allen were able to snag five steals each. IW shot 70.6 percent from the free throw line, 36.7 percent behind the arc, and 46.7 percent from the field.
Iowa Wesleyan will be traveling to Westminster this Saturday for another SLIAC matchup. The Women’s
team will tip off at 1 p.m. in Fulton, Mo. and the Men’s team will follow.
